About the Position
K Neumayer Civil Contractors is seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to lead and coordinate mechanical installation, maintenance, and commissioning activities on major construction and industrial projects in Swakopmund and Karibib.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all mechanical works are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, quality requirements, and safety standards. This position is ideal for a strong leader with proven supervisory experience in mechanical engineering, maintenance, plant installation, or industrial construction environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise daily mechanical installation and maintenance activities.
* Coordinate mechanical teams, contractors, and subcontractors.
* Ensure compliance with project drawings, specifications, and method statements.
* Monitor productivity, quality, and project progress.
* Enforce health, safety, and environmental standards on site.
* Manage permit-to-work requirements and mechanical isolation procedures.
* Ensure Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures are followed correctly.
* Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings.
* Coordinate inspections, testing, and commissioning activities.
* Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
* Identify and resolve technical and operational issues.
* Ensure work is completed within project schedules and quality requirements.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
* Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in:
* Mechanical Engineering
* Mechanical Fitting
* Maintenance Engineering
* Or a related mechanical discipline
Experience
* Minimum 5 years of mechanical experience.
* At least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
* Experience in industrial, mining, construction, maintenance, or plant environments will be advantageous.
* Proven ability to supervise teams and coordinate multiple work fronts.
Technical Knowledge
Strong understanding of:
* Mechanical installation practices
* Equipment maintenance procedures
* Engineering drawings and specifications
* Method statements
* Permit-to-work systems
* Isolation procedures
* Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements
* Mechanical safety standards
* Preventive and corrective maintenance practices
