Granite Bridge Saw Operator

Medusalem Gravestones is seeking an experienced Granite Bridge Saw Operator to join its production team at the Olukonda Factory in Ondangwa. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating granite bridge saw machinery to cut granite blocks and slabs accurately according to required measurements and production specifications. The role requires practical experience with bridge saw equipment, careful material handling and a strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards. Key Duties and Responsibilities: • Operate a granite bridge saw to cut granite blocks and slabs according to specifications and production requirements. • Read measurements and production drawings accurately before cutting materials. • Set up and operate bridge saw equipment carefully to achieve accurate dimensions and minimise material waste. • Operate a heavy-duty forklift for loading, unloading and moving granite materials where required. • Handle granite and other heavy materials safely throughout the production process. • Manage and organise raw materials and finished granite products within the factory environment. • Conduct daily inspections of bridge saw machinery and forklift equipment. • Perform basic maintenance checks and report mechanical, operational or safety problems requiring attention. • Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment around production machinery. • Follow established workplace health and safety procedures while operating industrial equipment. • Work with production colleagues to maintain efficient workflow and meet production requirements. Requirements: • Minimum of 5 years' experience operating a granite bridge saw. • Experience operating a heavy-duty forklift. • Grade 12 certificate. • Good understanding of granite cutting processes and material handling. • Ability to operate machinery accurately, safely and efficiently while working under pressure. • Physically fit and reliable for a practical factory-based position. • Strong machine-operation and technical skills. • Good attention to detail and commitment to accurate measurements and quality workmanship. • Good teamwork and communication skills. • Practical problem-solving ability.
