Operator - ADT

Lewcor is looking for a qualified Articulated Dump Truck (ADT) Operator to join its operations team in Oranjemund, Namibia. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating an articulated dump truck to transport materials within the operational and mining area while meeting production targets and complying with established safety, traffic and operational procedures. Key Responsibilities: • Safely operate an Articulated Dump Truck within designated mining and operational areas. • Transport excavated material, rock, soil and other materials between loading, dumping and designated work areas. • Follow designated haul routes, traffic rules and site operating procedures. • Maintain safe operating speeds and appropriate following distances under changing site conditions. • Position the ADT correctly for loading and dumping activities and coordinate effectively with loading-equipment operators. • Support daily production and material-movement targets while maintaining safe operating standards. • Conduct required pre-start and operational inspections of the ADT before commencing work. • Monitor equipment condition during operation and promptly report mechanical defects, damage or unsafe conditions. • Maintain awareness of surrounding vehicles, equipment, personnel and changing ground conditions. • Follow instructions from supervisors and coordinate effectively with other operators and production personnel. • Maintain good equipment-care standards and operate the ADT responsibly to minimise unnecessary wear or damage. • Comply with all mine-site health, safety, environmental and operational procedures. Minimum Requirements: • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification. • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures provided in English. • At least two years of experience working in an open-pit mining environment. • Original Operator Competency Certificate for an Articulated Dump Truck (ADT). • Namibian ID. • Valid driver's licence. • Vienna Dover assessment not older than 12 months. • Valid Certificate of Conduct not older than 12 months. • Contactable references. • Own accommodation. Candidates should be safety-conscious, dependable and capable of operating heavy equipment efficiently in an active open-pit mining environment while maintaining productivity, equipment-care and workplace safety standards.
