Operator - Dozer

Lewcor is looking for a qualified Dozer Operator to join its operations team in Oranjemund, Namibia. The successful candidate will safely and efficiently operate track and tyre dozers to perform earthmoving, site preparation, material pushing and levelling activities while supporting production targets and maintaining high standards of safety, work quality and equipment care. Key Responsibilities: • Safely operate track and tyre dozers within designated mining and operational areas. • Perform earthmoving, clearing, levelling, grading and site-preparation activities according to operational requirements. • Push, spread and move soil, rock and other materials to designated locations. • Support mining and production activities by preparing work areas and maintaining suitable operating surfaces. • Perform accurate levelling and material-placement activities according to instructions and site requirements. • Conduct required pre-start inspections and operational checks before using the dozer. • Monitor equipment performance during operation and promptly report mechanical faults, defects or unsafe conditions. • Operate equipment responsibly to minimise unnecessary wear, damage and downtime. • Maintain awareness of surrounding equipment, vehicles, personnel, terrain and changing ground conditions. • Follow instructions from supervisors and coordinate activities with other equipment operators and production teams. • Maintain high equipment-care, housekeeping and operational standards. • Comply with all applicable workplace health, safety, traffic and mining-site procedures. Minimum Requirements: • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification. • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures provided in English. • At least two years of experience working in an open-pit mining environment. • Original Operator Competency Certificate for Dozer operation. • Namibian ID. • Valid driver's licence. • Vienna Dover assessment not older than 12 months. • Valid Certificate of Conduct not older than 12 months. • Contactable references. • Own accommodation. The position requires an experienced and safety-conscious heavy-equipment operator who can work effectively in an open-pit mining environment, perform earthmoving and material-handling activities accurately and contribute to safe and productive site operations.
