Chinese Cuisine Chef

Sun Square Hotel is seeking an experienced Chinese Cuisine Chef to join its kitchen team in Oshikango, Namibia. The position requires extensive experience preparing authentic Chinese cuisine and strong knowledge of traditional and contemporary Chinese cooking techniques, ingredients and food preparation methods. Key Responsibilities: • Prepare and cook a variety of traditional and contemporary Chinese dishes. • Use appropriate Chinese cooking techniques and ingredients to produce authentic, consistent meals. • Prepare ingredients and organise food items required for daily kitchen operations. • Maintain high standards of food preparation, presentation and kitchen organisation. • Maintain cleanliness and organisation throughout food preparation and kitchen work areas. • Follow food safety, sanitation and hygiene guidelines during preparation, cooking and storage. • Handle ingredients, cooking equipment and kitchen utensils safely and responsibly. • Monitor food preparation to maintain consistency and appropriate quality standards. • Coordinate kitchen tasks efficiently to support timely meal preparation and service. • Minimise unnecessary food waste through proper preparation, handling and storage practices. • Maintain professional kitchen practices and contribute to efficient hotel food-service operations. Requirements: • Proven experience as a Chinese Cuisine Chef with a minimum of 8 years of experience. • Expertise in authentic Chinese cooking techniques and ingredients. • Strong practical knowledge of Chinese food preparation and cooking methods. • Ability to maintain kitchen cleanliness, organisation and food-safety standards. • Ability to work efficiently in a professional hotel kitchen environment.
