Preventive Health and Occupational Health & Safety Instructor

Higher Institute of Technology is seeking a qualified Part-Time Preventive Health and Occupational Health & Safety Instructor for its Rundu workstation. The instructor will provide vocational education for the National Vocational Certificate Preventive Health programme at Level 4, with emphasis on occupational health and safety competencies. The instructor will deliver theoretical and practical training covering preventive health principles, workplace safety, hazard awareness, occupational health practices and the implementation of appropriate safety procedures. The position requires an experienced vocational educator capable of training, assessing and supporting learners as they develop occupational health and safety competencies relevant to modern workplaces. Key Responsibilities: • Deliver vocational instruction in Preventive Health and Occupational Health and Safety at Level 4. • Prepare lessons, learning materials and practical training activities. • Explain workplace health, safety and preventive health principles to trainees. • Guide learners through practical safety and risk-awareness activities. • Assess learner competency and maintain appropriate assessment documentation. • Participate in assessment and moderation activities. • Encourage safe working practices and professional conduct among trainees. • Provide learner support and constructive feedback. • Ensure teaching and assessments remain aligned with relevant NVC and NTA requirements. Minimum Requirements: • Relevant specific qualification in Preventive Health, Occupational Health and Safety or the applicable vocational field. • TVET Instructor course or equivalent instructor training. • At least 2 years' experience instructing, assessing and moderating trainees. • Experience assessing NTA trainees. • Candidates currently working at other vocational training centres may apply. The part-time schedule may include daytime classes, evenings from 17:00 and Saturdays from 09:00.
