Higher Institute of Technology is seeking a suitably qualified Part-Time Solar Equipment Maintenance and Installation Instructor for its Rundu workstation. The instructor will provide vocational training in Solar Equipment Maintenance and Installation for National Vocational Certificate programmes from Level 1 to Level 4. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering practical and theoretical instruction related to solar energy systems, solar equipment installation, maintenance procedures, fault identification, equipment safety and the correct use of tools and components. The instructor will support trainees in developing practical workplace skills and competencies required within the renewable energy and solar installation sector. Key Responsibilities: • Deliver theoretical and practical training in solar equipment maintenance and installation. • Prepare and present structured lessons aligned with the relevant NVC and NTA training requirements. • Demonstrate safe installation, inspection and maintenance practices for solar equipment and systems. • Guide trainees through practical exercises and competency-based learning activities. • Assess learner performance and maintain appropriate training and assessment records. • Participate in moderation and assessment activities where required. • Promote occupational safety and correct handling of equipment during practical training. • Support learners in developing job-ready technical skills for the renewable energy sector. Minimum Requirements: • Relevant qualification specifically related to Solar Equipment Maintenance and Installation. • TVET Instructor course or equivalent instructor training. • Minimum of 2 years' experience in instructing, assessing and moderating trainees. • Experience assessing NTA trainees is required. • Candidates currently working at other vocational training centres may apply for this part-time opportunity. Classes may be offered during the day, evenings from 17:00 and on Saturdays from 09:00.
