Drill Mechanic

Beifang Mining Technology Services (Namibia) (Pty) Ltd is recruiting three Drill Mechanics for its Drill Maintenance division at the Rössing site. The successful candidates will inspect, service, maintain, troubleshoot and repair production drill rigs and associated mining equipment to ensure maximum equipment availability, reliability and safe operation while supporting efficient drilling operations. Number of Positions: 3 Division: Drill Maintenance – Rössing Site Key Performance Areas: - Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on drill rigs and related mining equipment - Diagnose and repair hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic and electrical faults - Conduct routine equipment inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards - Complete maintenance reports, work orders and equipment records accurately - Work closely with production teams to minimise equipment downtime and improve availability - Perform breakdown maintenance and standby duties when required - Ensure compliance with company safety, health, environmental and quality requirements - Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment Minimum Qualifications: - Grade 12 certificate with a minimum of 20 points, NQF Level 4, or equivalent qualification - National Trade Certificate as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic or Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic - Valid Code B or Code BE driver's licence Experience: - Minimum 3–5 years of post-trade experience maintaining blast-hole drill rigs in a mining environment - Experience working on Atlas Copco, Epiroc, Sandvik or Caterpillar drilling equipment is an added advantage - Computer literacy including Microsoft Office and SAP or a similar maintenance-management system is advantageous Knowledge & Skills: - Strong mechanical and hydraulic troubleshooting skills - Good knowledge of preventative-maintenance practices - Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities - Ability to work under pressure and support production requirements - Good communication and teamwork skills - High level of safety awareness and attention to detail
