Diesel Mechanic

Kneumayer is recruiting an experienced Diesel Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, service, and repair heavy mobile and earthmoving equipment in Swakopmund and Karibib. This role is ideal for qualified diesel mechanics with experience in mining, construction, or heavy equipment workshops. The successful candidate will perform maintenance, diagnose faults, repair hydraulic and mechanical systems, complete maintenance documentation, and ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently. About the Role Maintain and repair heavy mobile equipment to maximize safety, reliability, and operational performance. Key Responsibilities * Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy mobile equipment. * Perform preventive maintenance. * Repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, braking systems, and electrical components. * Diagnose mechanical faults. * Read technical manuals and service documentation. * Complete maintenance records and job cards. * Follow workplace health and safety procedures. Minimum Requirements * Minimum 3 years’ experience as a diesel mechanic in construction, mining, or heavy equipment workshops. * Level 3 Diesel Mechanics qualification, Trade Certificate, or equivalent. * Practical experience with heavy mobile and earthmoving equipment. * Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems. * Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical faults. * Valid driver’s licence. * Good teamwork and communication skills. * Computer literacy is advantageous.
