Maintenance Manager

We are seeking a capable and hands-on Maintenance Manager to join our team at Rostock Ritz Desert Lodge in Namibia. The successful candidate will oversee property maintenance, infrastructure, renovation activities and general operational upkeep while helping us deliver an excellent guest experience in a unique desert lodge environment. Key Responsibilities: • Oversee the maintenance of lodge buildings, infrastructure, guest facilities and surrounding areas. • Conduct regular inspections to identify repair requirements, prioritise maintenance tasks and minimise operational downtime. • Monitor ongoing construction and renovation projects and report progress to the General Manager and owners. • Perform basic servicing and maintenance of lodge vehicles. • Maintain landscaping, outdoor facilities and the general appearance of the property. • Coordinate maintenance activities and provide practical assistance across lodge departments when required. • Demonstrate knowledge of the region's wildlife, plants and geology to support the guest experience. • Assist with scenic drives and guest transportation when appropriately licensed. • Support efficient maintenance operations through strong communication, planning and leadership. Requirements: • Good communication and leadership skills. • Practical knowledge of lodge maintenance, building repairs and general infrastructure upkeep. • Ability to oversee construction and renovation activities. • Basic vehicle maintenance and servicing knowledge. • Valid driver's licence; a Professional Driving Permit (PDP) is advantageous. • Interest in and knowledge of local fauna, flora and geology. • Willingness to work additional hours and assist other departments when required. • Basic German language skills, fluent English and Afrikaans. • Ability to live and work in a remote lodge environment and contribute positively to the team.
