Earthworks Supervisor

About the Position K Neumayer Civil Contractors is seeking an experienced Earthworks Supervisor to join its construction team in Swakopmund and Karibib. This position is suited to a results-driven site leader with extensive earthworks experience, strong plant coordination skills, and the ability to manage large-scale bulk earthworks operations safely and efficiently. The successful candidate will oversee earthmoving activities, ensure compliance with engineering specifications, coordinate construction plant and operators, and maintain productivity, safety, and quality standards throughout project execution. Key Responsibilities * Supervise daily earthworks and bulk excavation activities. * Coordinate earthmoving plant, equipment, and operators. * Monitor production targets and site productivity. * Ensure earthworks are completed according to engineering requirements. * Control levels, grading, trimming, and compaction activities. * Monitor site safety and enforce HSE standards. * Coordinate traffic management and exclusion zone controls. * Ensure safe operation of heavy construction equipment. * Prepare daily reports and progress updates. * Manage workforce allocation and site resources. * Coordinate with engineers, surveyors, project managers, and subcontractors. * Ensure project milestones and programme requirements are achieved. Minimum Requirements Qualifications Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in: * Civil Engineering * Earthworks * Construction * Plant Production * Or a related discipline Experience * Minimum 5 years of earthworks experience. * At least 2 years in a supervisory role. * Proven experience on civil, mining, infrastructure, or industrial construction projects. * Experience supervising bulk earthworks operations and heavy equipment activities. Technical Knowledge Strong understanding of: * Earthworks methodologies * Bulk excavation and fill operations * Levels and trim control * Compaction requirements * Construction plant coordination * Productivity monitoring * Site quality requirements Safety Requirements Strong awareness of: * Traffic management procedures * Exclusion zones * Construction safety controls * Heavy equipment operating safety * HSE compliance standards Required Skills * Strong leadership and supervisory abilities. * Excellent communication and coordination skills. * Strong reporting and documentation capabilities. * Ability to manage multiple crews and equipment resources. * Strong organisational and planning skills. * Problem-solving and decision-making abilities. * Ability to work under pressure in high-output environments. * Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
