AB Deck / AB Engine

B-4 Engineering and Diving is recruiting an experienced AB Deck / AB Engine professional for its maritime operations in Walvis Bay. This is a combined marine operations position involving both deck and engine-room responsibilities. The successful candidate will participate in mooring, anchoring and berthing operations while also supporting vessel-engine monitoring, routine inspections, basic machinery maintenance and repairs. The role requires practical marine experience, safety awareness and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced vessel environment. Key Responsibilities * Carry out mooring operations. * Participate in anchoring operations. * Assist with vessel berthing. * Maintain the vessel and associated equipment. * Operate deck machinery safely. * Operate lifting equipment safely. * Participate in emergency drills. * Respond appropriately to vessel emergencies. * Assist with the operation and monitoring of vessel engines and machinery. * Perform routine engine-room inspections. * Carry out basic machinery maintenance. * Lubricate machinery as required. * Monitor fuel levels. * Monitor oil, coolant and other fluid levels. * Maintain engine-room cleanliness and housekeeping. * Assist with repairs under the direction of the Engineer or Skipper. * Follow applicable safety procedures during deck and engine operations. Minimum Requirements * Basic Safety Training. * Valid Seaman’s Medical Certificate. * Valid driver’s licence. * Matric Certificate. * Police Clearance Certificate. * Minimum 5 years of experience. * Basic knowledge of marine engines and machinery. * Ability to safely operate deck and engine-room equipment. * Good communication skills. * Good interpersonal skills. * Strong attention to detail. * Strong safety awareness. * Basic maintenance and housekeeping skills.
