Higher Institute of Technology is seeking a Part-Time Transport Operations and Logistics Freight Handling Instructor for its Walvis Bay workstation. The instructor will provide vocational training for National Vocational Certificate programmes in Transport, Operations and Logistics, specialising in Freight Handling at Levels 2 and 3.
The instructor will prepare learners for careers within transport, logistics, freight handling and related operational environments by delivering structured theoretical instruction and practical competency-based training. The role requires an experienced trainer capable of teaching industry-relevant processes while assessing trainees against applicable vocational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver theoretical and practical training in transport operations, logistics and freight handling.
• Provide instruction for NVC Freight Handling Level 2 and Level 3 trainees.
• Prepare lessons, practical exercises and learner assessment activities.
• Demonstrate appropriate freight handling and logistics operational procedures.
• Develop learners' understanding of transport and logistics workplace practices.
• Assess learner competency and maintain accurate training records.
• Participate in assessment and moderation processes.
• Support learners with practical guidance and constructive feedback.
• Promote safety, organisation and professional conduct within logistics training activities.
• Ensure training is aligned with relevant NTA vocational requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
• Relevant qualification specifically related to Transport, Operations, Logistics or Freight Handling.
• TVET Instructor course or equivalent instructor training.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in instructing, assessing and moderating trainees.
• Experience assessing NTA trainees.
• Individuals currently working at other vocational training centres are eligible to apply for this part-time opportunity.
Teaching may include daytime sessions, evening classes from 17:00 and Saturday sessions from 09:00.
