Master x2 (Vessel Captain)

Novaship is recruiting two experienced Masters (Vessel Captains) to lead tanker vessel operations based in Walvis Bay. This opportunity is ideal for highly experienced maritime professionals with extensive tanker operations experience, international certifications, and strong leadership skills. The successful candidates will command tanker vessels, ensure safe navigation, manage multinational crews, oversee cargo operations, maintain compliance with international maritime regulations, and deliver operational excellence while meeting IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL and ISM standards. Whether you have worked as a Vessel Captain, Master Mariner, Ship Master, Tanker Captain, Marine Superintendent, Chief Officer, Maritime Operations Manager, Offshore Vessel Master, Marine Captain, or Merchant Navy Master, this role offers an outstanding leadership opportunity within Namibia’s maritime sector. Key Responsibilities * Command and operate tanker vessels safely. * Lead and supervise multinational crews. * Ensure compliance with IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, ISM and MLC regulations. * Manage voyage planning and navigation. * Oversee cargo loading, discharge and tank cleaning operations. * Maintain safety, security and environmental protection standards. * Coordinate inspections and audits. * Manage emergency response and crisis situations. * Monitor vessel operational performance and fuel efficiency. * Ensure compliance with company and Flag State requirements. Minimum Requirements * Master Mariner (Unlimited) Certificate of Competency. * STCW certification with all required endorsements. * GMDSS General Operator’s Certificate. * Dynamic Positioning (DP) Certificate. * Advanced Oil, Chemical and/or Liquefied Gas Tanker endorsement. * Minimum 15 years’ seagoing experience, including 9 years as Master on ocean-going tanker vessels. * Experience commanding vessels of 50,000 DWT or larger. * Strong leadership and crew management skills. * Namibian citizen with valid Namibian ID and passport. * Fluent in English; French (minimum B1) is required.
