Industrial Gas Namibia (IGN) is seeking a Sales Representative in Windhoek to serve as a primary point of contact between the company and its customers while growing and protecting revenue across an assigned customer base. This is a technical sales position requiring the ability to discuss industrial gas and welding applications with customers while developing commercial relationships and identifying new business opportunities.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
• Design and implement account plans for customers with clear revenue and retention targets.
• Maintain a realistic and structured customer call roster.
• Provide weekly, or otherwise agreed, written market updates to management.
• Monitor and report competitor activity and market pricing.
• Resolve customer complaints and queries, acknowledge matters within 24 hours and work toward appropriate resolution timelines.
• Conduct gap analysis on potential clients and convert opportunities into new business.
• Conduct regular cylinder audits at customer sites.
• Advise on product and service improvements based on customer needs.
• Perform other relevant duties as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Diploma or Certificate in Sales, Marketing or Business Administration.
• Five or more years of sales experience in industrial gas, welding or a related technical B2B environment is preferred; a minimum of three years may be considered for candidates with strong technical gas or welding sales exposure.
• Working knowledge of gases, gas equipment, welding equipment and consumables.
• Proven and demonstrable sales track record; references or figures may be requested.
• Valid Namibian driver's licence, minimum Code B.
• Comfortable compiling structured weekly sales and market reports using Excel or the company's reporting format.
The Sales Representative role combines customer relationship management, technical industrial sales, account development, revenue growth, market intelligence and new-business development. Candidates should be comfortable discussing gas and welding applications with customers and working toward defined sales, customer retention and business growth objectives.
