Cricket Namibia is recruiting a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to provide executive leadership across Namibia's national cricket structures, programmes, commercial activities and strategic development. As the leader of programmes operating under Cricket Namibia, the CEO will be responsible for implementing the organisation's strategic vision, strengthening cricket participation and performance, overseeing financial and human-resource management, developing commercial opportunities and maintaining relationships with national and international governing bodies.
This senior executive position requires substantial knowledge of professional cricket administration, sports commercialisation, strategic management, sponsorship, broadcasting, stakeholder engagement and organisational leadership. The successful candidate will also play an important role in the development and commercial sustainability of Namibia's national cricket stadium.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation of Cricket Namibia's strategic vision and organisational objectives
- Increase access to and participation in cricket across Namibia's regions and demographic groups
- Drive inclusivity across all aspects and levels of cricket
- Increase participation of female players in hard-ball cricket
- Ensure the global competitiveness and continued development of Namibia's national teams
- Oversee programme leaders responsible for cricket-development programmes
- Improve administration of development programmes across clubs, schools, regional centres and mini-cricket structures
- Build the capacity of administrative and operational personnel
- Oversee national men's, women's and high-performance cricket programmes
- Strengthen player-development pathways leading to national teams
- Increase international participation opportunities for players and teams
- Maintain and improve the on-field performance of national teams
- Lead financial management, budgeting, reconciliation and financial-control processes
- Implement financial systems that support accurate payments and safeguard organisational finances
- Oversee cash flow, debtors, fixed assets, infrastructure finances and financial-risk management
- Oversee audit processes and financial reporting, including reporting to the International Cricket Council
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting to governing bodies in Namibia, ICC Africa and ICC International
- Maintain awareness and implementation of ICC safeguarding, anti-doping, anti-corruption policies and procedures
- Oversee Cricket Namibia's brand and marketing portfolio across print and digital channels
- Drive non-ICC commercial income and revenue-generation targets
- Manage international recognition, commercial opportunities and awards initiatives
- Manage commercial sale of digital and broadcasting rights internationally
- Develop and maintain relationships with schools, clubs, committees, sponsors, governing bodies and other key stakeholders
- Oversee development of the national cricket stadium and associated facilities
- Develop and implement a sustainable commercial and revenue model for the national stadium
- Generate stadium revenue to support the sustainability and development of cricket programmes
Qualifications & Experience:
- Tertiary qualification in Management
- Postgraduate qualification in Business Management
- Master's degree in Business Administration is advantageous
- Professional-level experience in cricket administration
- Experience in the commercialisation of cricket
- Experience administering sport at national level
- Strong understanding of sports commercialisation
- Experience with sponsorship and broadcasting negotiations and contracting
- Experience designing and implementing organisational strategy
- Strong marketing-strategy knowledge
- Strong stakeholder-management and relationship-building capabilities
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills
- Knowledge and experience in commercialisation of cricket stadiums
- Thorough understanding of cricket and the professional sporting environment
