Multi-Skilled Operator

Savanna Beef Operations (Pty) Ltd is recruiting three Multi-Skilled Operators for its slaughter operations. The role is responsible for coordinating and supporting daily activities within the assigned production area while ensuring safe, efficient and hygienic product flow in accordance with production plans, quality requirements, food-safety standards and operational requirements. The position provides operational guidance to the team and supports other Multi-Skilled Operator areas as required. Key Duties and Responsibilities: - Support continuous and efficient carcass and product flow throughout the slaughter process and assist in achieving daily production targets. - Monitor and maintain the correct handling of carcasses, offal and related products to prevent contamination, damage and unnecessary losses. - Operate designated slaughter-floor equipment safely and correctly in accordance with training and operational procedures. - Monitor product quality and identify and report deviations from required specifications. - Apply correct product identification, labelling, traceability and production-recording requirements. - Maintain compliance with food safety, HACCP, GMP, hygiene, sanitation and company standard operating procedure requirements. - Comply with all occupational health and safety requirements, including correct use of PPE and safe working practices. - Identify and report equipment faults, operational problems, production delays and bottlenecks to the Supervisor or Team Leader. - Assist with resolving routine operational issues within established procedures and escalate matters outside own authority. - Support Team Leaders and production employees in maintaining effective workflow and meeting operational requirements. - Maintain a clean, hygienic and orderly work area at all times. - Ensure compliance with customer requirements and applicable regulatory standards. - Perform other reasonable and ad hoc duties as required by management. Qualifications, Experience and Skills: - 3 years' experience in an abattoir environment, with practical exposure to slaughter-floor operations. - Experience in one or more of the following areas will be advantageous: bleeding, slaughter-line operations, offal handling and processing, carcass handling and meat inspection support activities. - Proficient in English; being bilingual will be advantageous. - Able and willing to work shifts, weekends, overtime and public holidays. - Namibian citizen. Required Skills and Knowledge: - Sound knowledge of slaughter-floor processes and meat-processing operations. - Understanding of beef carcass and offal handling requirements. - Ability to identify and report operational problems and production constraints. - Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced production environment.
