Head Mechanic / Quality Tester

ASCO Car Hire Pty Ltd is looking for an experienced, safety-conscious, and qualified Auto Mechanic to join its workshop team as a Head Mechanic / Quality Tester. The successful candidate will be responsible for testing, analyzing, and supervising fleet vehicle maintenance and repairs while assisting with workshop management and field service operations. Key Responsibilities: Pre-test and inspect fleet vehicles and assess damages and repairs Support mechanics, review completed work, and conduct final test drives Ensure accurate job cards, parts lists, and documentation Coordinate workshop workflow and planning with the Workshop Manager Manage vehicle breakdowns and assist clients Identify and resolve operational, technical, and customer issues Maintain workshop safety, cleanliness, and strong teamwork Assist with parts management and ordering Be available for weekends, holidays, overtime, and field service Requirements: Qualified Mechanic with at least 5–10 years hands-on workshop experience Strong technical knowledge of Toyota 4x4 vehicles Good knowledge of roads and regions in Namibia, Botswana, and South Africa Valid driver’s license (Code CE is an advantage) Strong communication and teamwork skills Hands-on and problem-solving mindset Must reside in Windhoek Namibian citizen, permanent resident, or domicile holder
