Merchandiser Instructor

Higher Institute of Technology is inviting applications for a Part-Time Merchandiser Instructor based at its Windhoek workstation. The instructor will provide vocational education and competency-based training for the National Vocational Certificate Merchandiser Level 3 programme. The role is suited to an experienced vocational trainer with knowledge of merchandising and retail operations who can combine theoretical instruction with practical workplace-oriented training. Learners should be supported in developing competencies relevant to product presentation, stock handling, merchandising practices, customer-focused retail operations and related workplace procedures. Key Responsibilities: • Deliver theoretical and practical training in merchandising at NVC Level 3. • Prepare structured lessons, learning activities and practical assessments. • Demonstrate merchandising principles and workplace practices. • Guide trainees in developing practical retail and merchandising competencies. • Conduct trainee assessments and maintain accurate learner records. • Participate in competency assessment and moderation activities. • Provide constructive feedback and academic support to trainees. • Ensure instruction meets relevant NVC and NTA training expectations. • Promote professional workplace practices applicable to retail and merchandising environments. Minimum Requirements: • Relevant qualification specifically related to Merchandising or the applicable vocational field. • TVET Instructor course or equivalent instructor training. • At least 2 years' experience in instructing, assessing and moderating trainees. • Experience assessing NTA trainees. • Trainers currently employed by other vocational training centres may apply for this part-time opportunity. Teaching may include daytime classes, evening classes from 17:00 and Saturday classes from 09:00.
