Industrial Gas Namibia (IGN) is seeking a suitably qualified and commercially driven Sales Representative to join its team in Windhoek, Namibia. The Sales Representative will serve as the primary point of contact between the company and its customers and will be responsible for growing and protecting revenue across an assigned customer base. The position requires a candidate who is comfortable discussing technical gas and welding applications with customers while developing strong commercial relationships and identifying opportunities for new business.
Key Performance Areas:
• Design and implement structured account plans for assigned customers with clear revenue and customer-retention targets.
• Maintain a realistic and organised customer call schedule.
• Provide weekly or agreed written market updates to management.
• Monitor competitor activity, customer trends and pricing developments in the market.
• Respond to customer complaints and queries, acknowledge matters promptly and work toward satisfactory resolution.
• Conduct gap analysis on potential clients and convert suitable prospects into new business.
• Conduct regular cylinder audits at customer sites.
• Advise customers on product and service improvements based on their operational requirements.
• Develop and maintain productive relationships with customers across the assigned portfolio.
• Support revenue growth through proactive sales activity and effective account management.
• Perform other relevant sales and customer-service duties as required.
Minimum Requirements:
• Diploma or Certificate in Sales, Marketing or Business Administration.
• At least 5 years of sales experience in industrial gas, welding or a related technical B2B environment is preferred.
• Candidates with at least 3 years of experience may be considered where they have strong technical gas or welding sales exposure.
• Working knowledge of gases, gas equipment, welding equipment and consumables is required.
• Proven and demonstrable sales track record; references or performance figures may be requested.
• Valid Namibian driver's licence, minimum Code B.
• Comfortable preparing structured weekly sales and market reports using Excel or the company's reporting format.
• Strong customer-service, communication, account-management and business-development abilities.
