Practical Arts Teacher – Woodwork, Metalwork, Textiles and Pottery

We are seeking a Practical Arts Teacher (Lehrkraft für Arbeitslehre) to join Deutsche Höhere Privatschule Windhoek (DHPS) from January 2027. The teaching position covers practical subjects including woodwork, metalwork, textiles and pottery. We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative individual who enjoys working with children and young people and contributing to practical skills education. Key Responsibilities: • Deliver practical learning activities in woodwork, metalwork, textiles and pottery. • Support learners in developing practical, creative and technical skills. • Organise and prepare teaching activities and practical classroom work. • Encourage creativity, participation and engagement in practical subjects. • Contribute positively to the school environment and work collaboratively with colleagues. Requirements: • Completed vocational training, university degree or comparable recognised qualification. • Enjoyment of working with children and young people. • Commitment, creativity, flexibility and reflective thinking. • Good organisational skills. • Teaching experience would be advantageous. • Very good English language skills are required. • German language skills are advantageous.
