The Museums Association of Namibia (MAN), a non-governmental organization representing museums and heritage institutions across Namibia, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director to lead the organization.
This senior leadership role is responsible for the overall strategic direction, management, and operational oversight of MAN. The successful candidate will drive the organization’s mission, strengthen partnerships, and support the development of the museum and heritage sector both locally and internationally.
The role involves managing programs, building networks, securing funding, and ensuring the sustainability and growth of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide overall leadership, management, and oversight of MAN operations
* Execute MAN’s mandate, goals, and long-term strategic plans
* Develop and implement regional museum development strategies
* Build and maintain strong relationships with local and international partners
* Lead fundraising initiatives and maintain donor relationships
* Oversee planning and execution of annual general meetings (AGMs)
* Support museums with training, development, and funding strategies
* Conduct workshops and assist members with action and funding plans
* Manage grant applications and development projects
* Represent MAN in official meetings, negotiations, and public engagements
* Develop and implement marketing and communication strategies
* Prepare and manage organizational budgets and financial reporting
* Oversee accurate financial management and reporting
* Support Executive Committee activities and governance processes

Requirements & Qualifications:
* Postgraduate qualification (NQF Level 8 or higher) in:
* Museums, Heritage, Culture, History, or Education
* Minimum 8 years’ experience in the heritage, arts, culture, or non-profit sector
* At least 5 years in a managerial role
* Degree in Management, Business, Finance, or Project/Operations Management is an advantage
* Experience in fundraising and managing non-profit projects
* Strong strategic and operational management skills
* Experience in training development and workshop facilitation
* Knowledge of museum exhibition development is an advantage
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Valid Code B driver’s license
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
* Willingness to travel
* Namibian citizen or permanent resident
* Fluent in English (additional indigenous language is an advantage)

Remuneration & Benefits:
* Annual Salary: N$650,000 – N$700,000
* Medical Aid (50% employer contribution)
* 13th cheque (included in annual remuneration)
