Junior Buyer

Steel Force is building a dedicated buying team and is seeking a Junior Buyer to join its procurement operations in Windhoek, Namibia. This full-time opportunity is suited to an early-career procurement professional who wants to develop practical buying experience while working alongside an experienced senior buyer. The Junior Buyer will assist with purchasing and procurement activities including stock replenishment, obtaining and comparing supplier quotations, following up on purchase orders and helping ensure that required products and materials are available when needed. The role requires strong numerical ability, attention to detail, communication skills and confidence working with Microsoft Excel. Key Responsibilities: • Support the senior buyer with daily purchasing and procurement activities. • Assist with stock and inventory replenishment requirements. • Request, receive and compare quotations from suppliers. • Follow up with suppliers regarding outstanding purchase orders and deliveries. • Assist in maintaining accurate purchasing and supplier information. • Communicate with suppliers regarding prices, product availability and order progress. • Support procurement planning to ensure required stock and materials are available when needed. • Use Microsoft Excel to maintain, review and organise procurement-related information. • Assist with identifying purchasing requirements and coordinating orders. • Maintain accurate records of quotations, orders and supplier correspondence. • Work closely with the buying team and other internal departments to support efficient procurement operations. Minimum Requirements: • Grade 12 with strong Mathematics. • 1–3 years of experience in buying, stores or internal sales. • Good written and spoken English. • Good communication skills. • Confidence using Microsoft Excel. • Valid driver's licence. • Knowledge of the steel industry will be beneficial. The position provides an opportunity to learn the procurement trade alongside Steel Force's senior buyer while developing practical experience in purchasing, supplier management, replenishment and order coordination.
