About the Position
The Free Press of Namibia is seeking a highly motivated Circulation & Distribution Supervisor to manage, optimize, and oversee the end-to-end distribution of newspaper publications, digital e-papers, and subscription products across Namibia.
This position is ideal for an experienced logistics, distribution, sales, or operations professional who can coordinate nationwide distribution networks, manage budgets, drive circulation growth, and ensure publications reach vendors, agents, and subscribers efficiently and on time.
The successful candidate will be based in Windhoek and will work closely with distribution partners, vendors, drivers, and management teams while traveling throughout Namibia when required.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics & Route Management
* Oversee daily newspaper distribution schedules.
* Ensure timely delivery of publications nationwide.
* Monitor and improve route efficiency.
* Coordinate distribution operations in a fast-paced environment.
Budgeting & Cost Control
* Monitor distribution expenses and route costs.
* Ensure departmental budgets are maintained.
* Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
Sales & Circulation Growth
* Work closely with vendors and agents to increase circulation.
* Identify new distribution points and market opportunities.
* Support growth of both print and digital subscription products.
* Develop sales-driven distribution strategies.
Team & Vendor Coordination
* Manage drivers, vendors, couriers, and street sellers.
* Resolve operational bottlenecks and delivery challenges.
* Coordinate field teams to ensure service excellence.
Reporting & Administration
* Compile daily and weekly circulation reports.
* Track returns and unsold publications.
* Analyze distribution performance and trends.
* Utilize Microsoft Excel and reporting systems effectively.
Technology & Communication
* Maintain communication with field and office teams.
* Update digital tracking and reporting systems.
* Ensure operational data remains accurate and up to date.
Minimum Requirements
Experience
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in distribution, logistics, transportation, sales, or a related business environment.
* Proven experience managing operational teams and field activities.
Sales & Business Development
* Strong sales background preferred.
* Existing client network will be an added advantage.
* Ability to identify and develop growth opportunities.
Technical Requirements
* Strong computer literacy.
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
* Ability to use digital reporting systems.
* Must maintain reliable smartphone communication while in the field.
Mobility
* Valid Code B Driver’s Licence.
* Willingness to travel extensively throughout Namibia.
Education & Language
* Fluency in English required.
* Multilingual abilities will be advantageous.
* Qualification in Logistics, Business Management, Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, or related fields will be an added advantage.

Reporting Structure
