Job Overview
Windhoek High School (WHS) is seeking a qualified and passionate educator to fill the position of English First Language and Afrikaans Second Language Teacher. The successful candidate will teach English First Language to Grade 8 and Grade 9 learners and Afrikaans Second Language to Grade 12 learners.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher to contribute to academic excellence, learner development, and the broader school community within one of Namibia’s established educational institutions.

Key Responsibilities
* Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and inclusive lessons.
* Teach English First Language to Grade 8 and Grade 9 learners.
* Teach Afrikaans Second Language to Grade 12 learners.
* Assess, record, and report learner performance.
* Develop lesson plans and educational resources aligned with curriculum requirements.
* Provide academic support and guidance to learners.
* Foster a positive and productive learning environment.
* Participate in co-curricular activities and school programs.
* Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community.
* Support learner development both academically and personally.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet one of the following qualification pathways:
Option 1
* Recognized 3-year tertiary teaching qualification on NQF Level 6.
Option 2
* Appropriate recognized 3-year tertiary non-teaching qualification (or equivalent) on NQF Level 6 related to the subject area, plus a 1-year teaching qualification.
Option 3
* Appropriate recognized 3-year tertiary qualification (or equivalent) on NQF Level 6 plus a recognized test and a 1-year teaching qualification.
Additional Selection Requirements
* Candidates must be appropriately qualified and trained for the phase applied for in accordance with the National Curriculum for Basic Education (2016).
* Subject specialization and major fields of study will be considered during the shortlisting process.
* Demonstrated competence in teaching English and/or Afrikaans language subjects.
