IT Manager

Choppies Namibia is looking for an experienced and dynamic IT Manager to oversee and manage the organization’s IT infrastructure, systems, and daily technology operations. The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of company-wide IT systems while supporting business operations through innovative technology solutions. The IT Manager will be responsible for leading the IT team, maintaining infrastructure performance, managing cybersecurity measures, and ensuring smooth system upgrades and maintenance. This role requires a highly organized professional with strong technical expertise, leadership ability, and excellent problem-solving skills. Key Responsibilities: • Manage and maintain IT systems, networks, servers, and infrastructure. • Lead, supervise, and mentor the IT department team. • Ensure data security, backup systems, and disaster recovery processes are maintained effectively. • Oversee system installations, upgrades, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities. • Provide technical support and resolve IT-related operational issues. • Develop and implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices. • Coordinate with external vendors, suppliers, and service providers. • Monitor system performance and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and reliability. • Support business objectives by implementing technology-driven solutions and innovations. • Ensure proper cybersecurity practices and protection of company data and systems. Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. • Proven experience working as an IT Manager or in a similar senior IT role. • Strong knowledge of computer networks, systems administration, cybersecurity, and IT infrastructure. • Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills. • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities. • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively. • Experience with IT operations management and technical support environments. Preferred Qualifications: • Relevant professional certifications such as ITIL, Cisco, Microsoft, or related certifications. • Experience working in the retail or commercial sector will be an added advantage. • Knowledge of enterprise systems, cloud services, and network security frameworks is beneficial.
